Affiliate Disclosure

As things stand

Baffled has one affiliate relationship: OpticsPlanet, through the AWIN affiliate network. Accessory pages (mounts, muzzle devices, pistons, and front accessories) may show an OpticsPlanet price and a Shop link. Follow one of those links and buy something, and this site may earn a commission from the retailer. That costs you nothing. You pay the retailer's price, the same as if you had gone there directly.

Those links appear in exactly two places: the Shop button on an accessory browse listing (card or list row) and the Shop button on an accessory's own page, always marked with the retailer's name and an outbound arrow. Navigation, search results, breadcrumbs, and every other link on the site stay internal. No manufacturer or retailer pays to be in the catalog or to rank in it.

What compensation never changes

This holds whether or not there is ever a commission involved. Compensation will never determine:

• Compatibility conclusions. Whether the site tells you two parts fit.
• Specifications. Every length, weight, diameter, thread, and material stays what the source says it is.
• Comparison output. What the compare view reports, including which build wins on a given measure.
• The order in which products appear, in search, in filters, in pickers, or in any list.
• Whether a product is in the catalog at all, or whether a correction gets made.

Prices

The site shows two kinds of dollar figure, always labeled. MSRP is the manufacturer's suggested retail price, gathered from manufacturer sources; the site sorts and filters by it, falling back to the retailer's price for parts that show no MSRP. A figure labeled with a retailer's name (for example "at OpticsPlanet") is that retailer's price as of the date shown beside it, taken from their product feed. Where the retailer's price contradicts the MSRP on file, the MSRP is withheld rather than shown. Neither figure is a live checkout price or a quote. What you actually pay can differ by dealer, sale, and configuration. That stays true regardless of who, if anyone, is paying a commission.

Baffled is independently developed and is not affiliated with any manufacturer. The About page covers how the data is assembled and what its limits are. Privacy covers what happens if you follow a link off the site.

Manufacturers, retailers, and testing organizations who want to talk are welcome to get in touch. A spot in the catalog is not for sale, and neither is a better position in it.
